Raised under the traveling tent of Haly’s Circus, Dick Grayson was part of his family’s act, The Flying Graysons. At the age of 15, Dick’s parents were murdered during a performance, and billionaire Bruce Wayne — who happened to be in the audience at the time — gave Dick a home at the Wayne Care Center. Soon Dick discovered Bruce and Batman were one and the same. After some training, he became Batman’s partner, Robin. When Batgirl hit the scene, she and Robin became very close friends and flirted with the possibility of romance, but it never materialized, much to Batgirl’s chagrin. As Dick grew older and more experienced, his partnership with Batman came to an end. Now on his own, Dick took the identity of Nightwing, remaining in Gotham and helping Batman when needed. Recently, Nightwing has had to face the ghosts of his past as he’s taken ownership of Haly’s Circus, hoping to revitalize Gotham’s abandoned Amusement Mile section, land he has just purchased with his life’s savings. More troubling is his discovery that The Court of Owls had intended for him to become one of their ruthless undead assassins, known as a Talon. Even with these new revelations in his life, Nightwing continues to face each challenge with his usual undaunted optimism.
